A few months ago I got a bit carried away at the fabric shop and brought three different colours of stretch velvet. I started on the offcuts table and then discovered all the other colours from there!

A long time ago I pinned this little number on my Pinterest board, its sold by and I really wanted to recreate it (it’s no longer sold).

Here is my ode to olive so to speak!

I made the a cross between view B and D. Long sleeves, but without the godet inserts. I have a bit of a tummy so I added a few cms at the side seams from the waist downwards. It still clings a little at my tummy so I might do even more next time.

The velvet was a heaver drape than the other jersey which is why I chose the velvet for the main bodice rather than the sleeves.

I really liked this pattern, it was simple and quick to run up. I’m going to get tons of wear out of it, it’s casual enough for wearing to work, but tucked into some high waisted trousers or a pencil skirt it can be super glam for the evening too!

My next one is going to be a combo of black velvet and a heavy ribbed jersey with a gorgeous drape! I’ll probably try and extend the seams downwards and make it into a glam little back dress!
